So..the day has finally arrived..6th Jan..the big day - when we are supposed to embark on our big Honeymoon adventure. Everyone expects us to be excited, happy, can't wait to leave...blah! I am just tired! My brain is buzzing blank thoughts...my back is hurting...i just want to sleep and have a 8 hour massage. Aaahhhh....
We went to bed last night at 3am - after packing, printing out 'Thank you' cards, checking if all the pictures are correct and matching for the right wedding guest..thinking of nice things to write (at 2am). We were kaput!
Then morning started at 8.30am: first with bad news that Omi (Pasci's grandma) is quarantined in her room and we cannot go visit her at the home; and then the Airline calls to say that our 6pm flight is cancelled and we have to catch the 16:45 flight. The 17:30 flight from Basel was not recommended in case it gets cancelled (very reassuring to have so much faith from the staff themselves). And that was how the madness began.....pack, print out more thank-you cards, stamps? Got all addresses? Food? Forget it...no time :(
Emotions running high: Pasci's parents start to get emotional-they went pretty quiet (bless them), Pasci got upset because we cannot see Omi, I got upset because he's upset... sigh...
More problems at the airport: Bags cannot be checked-in because flight is 'gated' because of some airport or BA usual nonsense; when finally checked-in we hardly had time to say goodbye (or have a coffee) because the board said "go to gate"; and here we are....1.5hours later..still sitting at the bloody gate because our flight is now delayed to 18:00, the original flight time!!!! We cannot have any meal vouchers because the delay is less than 2 hours. Crappy nonsense...
Sigh...and so ...tis' is the start of our honeymoon. ARRGHHHHH........!! I wonder what further pleasures London Heathrow has for us. Lovely.
